University of toronto - grit lab

Bioroof Systems is an industry partner in the GRIT Lab research project at the University of Toronto, where the focus is on how green roofs can impact and improve building health and performance.

Bioroof Systems has partnered with the NRC and other industry leaders to develop the CSA A 123.24:21 Standard Test Method for Wind Resistance of Vegetated Roof Assembly - the first of its kind worldwide. CSA Group is recognized and accredited in the U.S. by ANSI and by OSHA which lists CSA Group as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). In conjunction with this standard an online calculator was created for building officials and designers to evaluate vegetated roof assembly design parameters.
